Understanding God: A Gentle Exploration of Divine Presence

Updated: Jan 12

The Many Faces of God

“God” is a term that carries a multitude of meanings. Each of us has a unique definition. Whether you identify as Catholic, Jewish, Agnostic, or Atheist—or perhaps you haven’t given it much thought—there is a concept of God that resonates within you. This concept may be shaped by your experiences, beliefs, or even the absence of belief.

When I mention “God” during our sessions, I think of your personal definition. It may resonate with you or feel distant. My understanding of God has grown and transformed over time. It has become deeply personal yet remains widely relatable.

My Personal Understanding of God

To me, God embodies everythingness. It is the harmonious dance between bees and flowers, the stoicism of mountains, the warmth of a gentle breeze, the ferocity of a hurricane, and the unconditional love of a mother. God is the Earth, the stars, and the Universe—all intertwined in a divine tapestry. It is you, me, and all of us, unfolding in the present moment.

God is not a singular person. Instead, it encompasses every person. God transcends gender; it is the perfect balance of masculine and feminine energies. God is not wrathful, vengeful, or jealous. Rather, God embodies perfect justice—karmic justice.

The Role of Responsibility

Often, people blame God when life takes an unexpected turn. However, when we embrace Radical Responsibility, we begin to understand that each of us is accountable for our own lives. God is not to blame for losing a job; instead, we can express gratitude for the closed door, which creates space for new opportunities. God is the unwavering love and support guiding us toward a path of least resistance and alignment with our highest good.

The Challenge of Attachment

As humans, we often resist change. We cling to certain desires and struggle to let go. When God gently nudges us away from a relationship that no longer serves us, we may fight against it. We may feel compelled to stay, even when it’s not right for us. This resistance can lead to suffering.

Instead, we can practice surrendering with gratitude. When we release what no longer serves us, we open ourselves to receive what is truly meant for us.

Embracing Change and Growth

Change is a natural part of life. It can be uncomfortable, but it is also an opportunity for growth. By embracing change, we allow ourselves to evolve. We can learn to trust the process and have faith that everything happens for a reason.

Finding Inner Peace

In the journey of understanding God, we often seek inner peace. This peace comes from acceptance and surrender. It is about letting go of our need to control every aspect of our lives. When we trust in the divine flow, we find a sense of calm amidst the chaos.

The Power of Intuition

Listening to our intuition is essential. It guides us toward choices that align with our true selves. When we tune into our inner voice, we can navigate life with greater clarity. This intuitive guidance is a gift from God, helping us to discern what is right for us.

The Journey Continues

As we explore the concept of God, we realize that this journey is ongoing. Each experience shapes our understanding. Each moment offers a chance to deepen our connection with the divine.

To be continued...
